Father Peyton once said, “A World at Prayer is a World at Peace.”
Father Anthony Gramlich, MIC elaborates on this phrase in the following video from his desk at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy:
33-day Consecration Starts Today:
After the Feast of the Epiphany, and on the Baptism of Jesus when we complete the Church’s celebration God’s promise to be Emmanuel - God with his people, we invite you to start a 33-day Rosary routine with a consecration to Jesus through Mary starting today January 9, 2023 (Patrick Peyton’s birthday) and ending on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes on Feb. 11, 2023. True Devotion to Mary: with Preparation for Total Consecration is the often the preferred text that many enjoy because St. Louis de Montfort gives great insight into the power of the Rosary. His “Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary” taught to us from his book was encouraged by St. John Paul II.
Today, on the birthday of Venerable Father Patrick Peyton, who dreamed of a world that could fall in love with the Rosary & family prayer, perhaps we might ask for his intercession to demonstrate our “True Devotion” to Our Lady.
STEP 1: Pray to Venerable Father Patrick Peyton & to the Holy Celestial Court for help to have the grace to begin this Consecration and to pray the Rosary daily for 33 days.
STEP 2: Pray the Rosary today. Need a partner? Pray with Keith Nester.
Keith has a 24/7 Rosary as well:
Click here for a guide {published by the Vatican}, our quick guide on this site, or download the free Digital Toolkit for Rosary Leaders. [O’Terço Scrapbook coming soon for March 25, 2023 for prayers in Portuguese].
STEP 3: Use the following guide to begin the 33-day consecration via St. Louis Marie de Montfort.
STEP 4: On Feb. 11, 2023, write out the consecration; and be sure to plan your visit to confession and/or how to find time to go to the Holy Mass that day.
If you need to learn more about this 33-day novena, listen to our podcast’s narrator & online mentor, Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, who explains “Marian Consecration” as an act by someone who is “set apart to be Holy”.
In his video, he defines consecration as dedicating yourself to Jesus using the help of Our Lady: an act of entrustment. (Fr. Chris notes: “We give our spiritual merits to Mary”, and we tell her to “invest” our efforts at prayer).
STEP 5: Find a Rosary Meditation guide, or use today our previously released Five First Saturdays Guide to the Mysteries Toolkit which you can use immediately tonight as you offer your Rosary to Jesus through the Blessed Mother. These two sample pages written by St. Louis Marie de Montfort feature the art from parishes on the Camino to Santiago and the format was designed by the JUNIOR RHP graphic team, led by Amelia (9), who hopes this toolkit will encourage in all hearts a love for the prayer of the Rosary:
