A Miraculous Medal Prayer uttered each decade of the Rosary honours the Immaculate Conception and mirrors the format at the Chapel of the Apparitions in Fátima | Prayer journey to Paris, France

Amelia shares w/ our Family of the Heart (this Rosary Hour Podcast Newsletter readers) her travels to the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal w/ digital scrapbook notes from new RHP Rosary Journal O Terço
REVIEWED BY: IN / BK / FP | 2nd EDITION REVISIONS NOV. 28 | TRAVESSA DA SENRA HOUSE PRESS

NOVEMBER 27 | FEAST OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL |

2nd Edition | SEE LINK ON YOUTUBE CHANNEL HERE. This presentation is in the world and not of the world. Locals will describe the neighbourhood surrounding the chapel of the Miraculous Medal as one of great wealth, and thus, in the midst of many high end retail and designer shops exists the relics and bodies of great Saints, including the heart of St. Vincent de Paul, which one can seek out on this pilgrimage. The Pharisees gave Jesus a hard time for spending time with “The Gentiles”, and yet the missionary nature of the Church is to bring about the Kingdom of God by announcing the coming together of Heaven and Earth. It is the paradox of this juxtaposition that makes the Mass so central to our Faith. If you wish to explore the mass visit our little site teaching in Portuguese, but which also examines its function: comorezar.substack.com which was created for pilgrims visiting Portugal. We’ll create a similar post in our French speaking site which teaches the Rosary in French and which can be used to pray at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Scroll below for the link and to pray the public Rosary every day while in Paris.

“Have a medal struck after this model,” our Blessed Mother told Sister Catherine Laboure, who is now a Saint, on Nov. 27, 1830, when she appeared to her in the Daughters of Charity convent in Paris:

“All who wear it will receive great graces; they should wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for persons who wear it with confidence.”

Dear Readers of the Rosary Hour Podcast Newsletter, beloved friends in Jesus Christ:

  • Today we have a special presentation which Zosia & Amelia worked hard last evening to put together. They both recorded a script for their Day 7 of the 33-day consecration to the Baby Jesus through Mary and St. Joseph located at this website and which has a following of people who are joining for at least one of those days when they have time, and regular visitors who are making the journey with us:

WATCH & SHARE WITH LOVED ONES (including your Family of the Heart: Familia do Coração this SHORTER VIDEO ON YOUTUBE (2 minute version) on the chapel:2

“When Amelia goes on a pilgrim journey to the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, she learns about this sacramental and talks about it with her Radio Maria USA Rosary co-partner for the last 20 months, Zosia. The two members of Children's Rosary ® explore the "why" behind the Rosary Toolkit prayer taught to St. Catherine Labouré who was instructed by Our Lady to place this prayer on the medal and to pray it to obtain great graces: "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

ZOSIA: The Blessed Virgin Mary instructed St. Catherine Labouré in Paris, France in this way:

AMELIA: NOVEMBER 27 | TODAY IS the FEAST OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL! TRAVEL WITH AMELIA & ZOSIA TO A SPECIAL CHAPEL IN PARIS, FRANCE AS PART OF THIS CONSECRATION JOURNEY! LET’S LEARN ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THIS PRAYER:

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

AMELIA: Many of us know about relics, but is it Science or Superstition; Faith or paganism? There are 100 examples of saints whose bodies (or parts of their bodies) are not corrupted. St. John Vianney’s heart. St. Francis Xavier, St. John of the Cross, St. Claire of Assisi, St. Rita, and others.

Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, Narrator of the Rosary Hour Podcast Mini Series on the Rosary notes from EWTN show that many of us know about relics, and some people embrace this - is it Science / Superstition, he asks. Is it Faith or paganism? There are 100 examples of saints whose bodies (or parts of their bodies) are not corrupted. St. John Vianney’s heart. St. Francis Xavier, St. John of the Cross, St. Claire of Assisi, St. Rita, St. Catherine Labouré, St. John Bosco, St. Maria Goretti. How does living a Holy Life on earth transform life after? Many have questions about this, and Fr. Chris explains in the following video:

ZOSIA: The reasons for their phenomena are natural and supernatural. We’ve asked some of our contributors about this this. Fr. Chris wonders why this hasn’t been studied more widely on the nightly news. He thinks that if any scientist / newscasters investigated them, they would be transformed. Fr. Looney noted on a former broadcast that the mystical Church looks first for scientific evidence first, seeking to find if science / research / natural explanations are accounted for.

OUTLINE OF THE CONSECRATION JOURNEY THROUGH ADVENT: DAY 7 of 33

STEP 1: MAKE THE SIGN OF THE CROSS

+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

STEP 2: INVOKE THE HOLY SPIRIT

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. Let us pray. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

STEP 3: Pray “Veni Creator Spiritus”

STEP 4: Pray “Ave Maris Stella”

STEP 5: READ THE GOSPEL OF ST. MATTHEW

MATTHEW 5, Giving to the Needy

6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others.

Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

The Gospel of the Lord.

STEP 5 — ALSO, OPTIONAL IS the DAY 7: CONSECRATION JOURNEY NOTES w/ BISHOP KEENAN’S VIDEO AUTHORED BY: DR. BLYTHE KAUFMAN

DAY 7: REFLECTION AUTHORED by: DR. BLYTHE KAUFMAN

How does Our Lady help us to hear Our Lord’s call? She draws souls to prayer. Just as a seed needs water and nutrients, our souls need the water and food of prayer. Plants also need the warm rays of the sun. Just so, our souls thirst for the love of God. A plant deprived of sun grows weak and with the first strong wind is blown over. Those young plants that bask in the sun grow strong. Just so, a soul that draws close to the love of Our Lord grows strong. Our Lady also teaches souls to come to prayer in humility. To be humble is not to deny the good things God has done. Mary never did this. We see this in the Canticle of Mary:

“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. For He has looked upon His handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.” (Lk 1:46-48)

Following in the example of Mary, we are to acknowledge our weakness and dependence on God. When God chooses to use  us as an instrument, the resulting fruits are always to glorify God, and not ourselves.

Goal: Our Lady helps us to hear Our Lord’s call by leading us to prayer.

CONDUCT AN EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE WITH THE USCCB etc.

There are various types of examinations of conscience but regardless of which one you use to prepare yourself for the Sacrament it should be rooted in Scripture; particularly, the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes. LEARN WITH THE UPCOMING GUESTS OF THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST THE WHY BEHIND OUR PRAYERS DURING ADVENT 2023

  1. LISTEN TO FR. ELIAS MILLS, F.I. (USA) on “The Miraculous Medal”:

RHP ANNOTATIONS:

  • Fr. Mills notes that St. Catherine ate a “third class relic” and tells the story of how “that night the little angel came to her in her room” and appeared as a “little boy”. He told her to “come” and that “Our Lady the Queen of Heaven wants to meet you”. He notes that St. Catherine didn't know what the little boy was really”.

Fr. Mills says, “they had this little conversation and Our Lady said to her, I wish that you would have a medal struck according to the pattern that I am going to show you.” Amelia will interview Fr. Elias on Dec. 8th, 2023, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Listen to Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle on the Miraculous Medal

Please see our video from the RHP LIBRARY ARCHIVE with popular guest on ETWN’s “Miracle Hunter” and foremost expert on the Miraculous Medal who assisted Amelia in formulating her focus for the visit to the shrine in Paris, France and impacting the materials for today’s presentation. Thank you Donna-Marie!

Donna-Marie will return to the Rosary Hour Podcast to explain the prayer that we pray in between the decades of the Rosary.

ON PRAYING THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL PRAYER EVERY DAY

The Digital Rosary featured in English on this site for the Advent Consecration Rosary Journey includes the Miraculous Medal prayer curated by Fr. Nuno who inserts this prayer into his Digital Toolkits for the solemn Rosary before the Sunday mass. This is the Rosary format prayed in Portugal, and specifically modelled after the Terço prayed in Fátima at the Chapel of the Apparitions.

HERE IS THE ROSARY LEADER FORMAT CURATED BY PE. NUNO & DEMONSTRATES HOW TO ADD THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL PRAYER to your DAILY ROSARY:

LEADER 2: Our Father, Who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,

on earth as it is in Heaven.

R. (ALL):  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

LEADER 2 [REPEATS X10 on the ten (10) beads of the Rosary]

LEADER 2:

Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit

of thy womb, Jesus.

R. (ALL): Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us, sinners,

now and at the hour of our death, Amen

LEADER 2:  Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Spirit.

R. (ALL): As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

LEADER 2: Oh Mary, conceived without sin,

 R. (ALL): Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

LEADER 2: Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell,

R. (ALL): Lead all souls to Heaven, and help those most especially in need of thy mercy.

LEADER 2:  Our Lady of the Holy Rosary

R. Save us. Save _______________________ (insert country)

LEADER 2:  Oh, Glorious St. Joseph

R. Pray for us.

OPTIONAL

LEADER 2:  St. Michael the Archangel (Sat. Novena anticipating Sept. 29)

R. Pray for us.

CROSS-REFERENCE | FÁTIMA TOOLKIT: The Shrine at Our Lady of Fátima published this Rosary text in Italian for Pope Francis World Youth Day visit on 3 August 2023:3

Note that AFTER the Glory BE, at the Chapel of the Apparitions in Fátima, the Pope’s Rosary included the Miraculous Medal Prayer & the Fátima decade prayer. While some do not know the reason behind both prayers, today might be a good opportunity to explain why we pray the Miraculous Medal prayer in the Rosary. This specific devotion to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception truly honours the message on the Miraculous Medal, as well as Our Lady Fátima, both of which are deliberately embedded in the Rosary and prayed with the heart by millions. Note that a “schola” can also sing between the decades the Magnificat, or other prayers to emphasize Our Lady’s voice. In many ways, by praying the Miraculous Medal prayer in the Rosary, we respond to Our Lady’s request to pray this prayer, which she composed, at least 5-8 times a day.

Nossa Senhora das Graças: Conheça a história de Nossa Senhora das Graças, desde suas aparições à jovem Catarina até o seu papel nas nossas vidas.

https://bibliotecacatolica.com.br/blog/formacao/nossa-senhora-das-gracas/#identifier_6_7675
