APRIL 14, 2023: 2nd Edition [Updated on April 15 w/ added links]4
Dear Readers:
Hello & welcome to The Rosary Hour Podcast Newsletter.
My name is Amelia. I am nine-years-old and a member of Children’s Rosary ® prayer group movement in the USA founded by Dr. Blythe Kaufman.
On March 2, 2023, I invited Fr. Peter Turrone to the Rosary Hour Podcast Live Record Studio — our Digital Café — to talk to our listeners about his fascinating journey to the priesthood.
I found his stories very interesting: in our conversation, I learned so many things about Fr. Peter’s life and mission work in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia; about his past life as a scientist in medicine in Toronto, Canada, and his thoughts on the Rosary, prayer and his favorite Italian meal.
I hope you really enjoy this episode and wish to thank Fr. Peter Turrone for being part of this interview, and for taking the time out of his busy schedule as the pastor of Holy Rosary Church in the Archdiocese of Toronto to teach our listeners how-to-pray all the prayers of the Holy Rosary in English.
Thank you for listening to the Rosary Hour Podcast, and please pray for Fr. Peter and for all the priests around the world.
xoxo
Lots of love,
Amelia 🥰,

What is the Church in Mongolia like today?8
ANSWER: “A LITTLE SEED” — NOTES THE CHURCH IN MONGOLIA
Today, the Catholic Mission & Church in Arvaikheer (Арвайхээр) where Fr. Peter led his first mass can be located on a map (included in this video) describing the mountainous region, logged by the Polish-Mongolian Physico-Geographical Expedition (1980)9. The image tells of the elevations of the Hangai Mountains, the great backdrop against which Fr. Peter & other missionaries spent time teaching about Jesus, the Gospel, and God’s love.
It is led by CARDINAL GIORGIO MARENGO, I.M.C. the order’s regional councillor of Asia (2016-2020) & Superior of the Consolata Missionaries for Mongolia. A parish priest at Mary Mother of Mercy parish in Arvaikheer of the Church in Mongolia, Cardinal Marengo notes:
“I would say that the positive aspect of the Catholic Сhurch in Mongolia is that it resembles to a little seed as Jesus described the Kingdom of God as something small little, but with a power of transforming the society.
Even though we don’t have any sign of external transformation we like this comparison of the Church as a small flock into a society which has completely different references in other religious traditions and another thought, but this is the beauty of being the church in Mongolia, to serve the Kingdom of God from that perspective. So humble witness and prayerful life and a life of service. ... So, in terms of these projects the Catholic Church is well respected in Mongolia.”

FOOTNOTES & REFLECTIONS TO AMELIA’S QUESTION “What was like to be a scientist (before you became a priest)?” (A COLLABORATIVE POST BY: THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST TEAM)
For today’s episode, our team cited 2 articles in the video to describe Fr. Peter’s past research in Psychiatric Neuroscience and “what it’s like” (i.e. to share research findings in a peer-reviewed journal in this field):
The first article:
Team Turrone / Remington / Kapur / Nobrega in 2004. Fr. Peter, etal investigate how OLZ impacts “vacuous chewing movements in rats”:12
The second article:
Team Remington, Fervaha, Foussias, Agrid, and Turrone. Of note: the fascinating hypothesis in the article abstract, published in the Journal of Psychiatry & Neuroscience, Vol. 39, Issue 4 (1 July 2014):
One sentence stands out when it argues that “many purported gains claimed by research have been lost in the translation”.
What is the process by which one eventually finds & encounters the Living God, so often lost in the translation of our times?
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (C.F. David, in HEBREWS 4: 7-8)
An atheist for many years prior to the time of his earliest publications, Fr. Peter came to discover the Science of the Knowledge of Jesus Christ.
How does God transform souls and help them along one path, and transcend it toward another, and even inspire an atheist’s journey into the priesthood?
Despite the mainstream tendency toward Scientism, Fr. Peter teaches that one’s pursuit of knowledge via advanced research in various Human Sciences / Scientific discovery, etc. inevitably leads to knowledge of God. His path to helping others in the medical field, paired with various life moments, including discovering the wisdom of the Gospel via St. Augustine’s Confessions, was one of many factors leading Fr. Peter to embrace a life in service of God and souls entrusted to him.
Now a priest of 10 years, Fr. Peter will direct members of his parish on Marian Pilgrimage to Italy, France and Portugal at the end of May as they pray the Rosary and the Mass at various shrines, including Lourdes and Fátima.
Culinary experts, take note at the end of this “Live Record Story” when Fr. Peter reveals a homestyle recipe from southern Italy.

FR. PETER TURRONE, PASTOR & NEUROSCIENTIST
Fr. Peter Turrone, IMC (Immaculati Cordis Mariae)
was ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ by the Most Reverend John A. Boissonneau, auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto on Sept. 1, 2013.He prepared for his priesthood by studying theology in Rome, Italy and spending 3 years working as a missionary in the Mongolian desert.

Peter was the Director of the Centre Catholic Mission located at the U of Toronto, St. George Campus, the main downtown hub for university students.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: HEALING IN GOD’S DIVINE MERCY
Fr. Peter’s unique background in the fields of Psychiatry and Medicine enlighten his multifaceted approach to healing souls in the Wounds of Christ.
In 2022, he began introducing stories of Eucharistic Miracles and next week leads a Zoom webinar with the mother of Blessed Carlos Acutis, Antonia Salzano-Acutis on April 18, 2023 at 10 a.m.13

MARIAN DEVOTION IN TORONTO 52 SATURDAYS-A-YEAR
Fr. Peter implemented regular 8:30 AM Saturday Rosary offered before the 9:00 AM Mass that is announced in the weekly Church bulletin so all who read it remember their participation as reparative prayer:
For the “Intentions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and in reparation for sins committed against her Immaculate Heart.”
All who attend honour Jesus by consoling the sorrowful heart of His Blessed Mother. In February 2022, Father Peter introduced a regularly scheduled event in Holy Rosary’s Church calendar:
Perpetual First Saturday Devotion Rosary + Mass + Adoration.
Carving out time for reflection on the Mysteries of the Rosary for 15 extra minutes as requested by Our Lady of Fátima to Beata Lúcia, this First Saturday Devotion invites all in the Archdiocese of Toronto (and even outside the GTA) and beyond on the Livestream, to unite in prayer of the Holy Rosary. For your convenience, The Rosary Hour Podcast now houses Fr. Peter's YouTube countdown in our "First Saturday Playlist" so that all our listeners can remember to partake in the requirements of this devotion, even remotely. A future post by our podcast team will share the recited consecration and Fátima prayers for this Rosary Devotion and Mass (1.5 hours).14
Divine Providence marked the beginning of this First Saturday Devotion tradition a year ago by way of a miraculous delivery of two First Class Relics from Fátima, Portugal, gifted and shipped to Holy Rosary Church in early January 2022.
Fr. Peter invites all to venerate the relics of St. Jacinta Marto & St. Francisco Marto at his parish during the 8:30 AM Rosary.
