THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST NEWSLETTER featuring THE ROSARY: A MINI SERIES, EPISODE 1 with FR. ANTHONY GRAMLICH, MIC (STOCKBRIDGE, MA)
ABOUT THIS VIDEO: PARTS 1 and 2
PART I: In today's continued conversation 004, and to help us understand how the Rosary leads us to the Miracle of Divine Mercy, Reverend Father Anthony Gramlich, MIC, first explains "Why Divine Mercy is the Gateway To Heaven" from his desk in Stockbridge, MA (USA).
Fr. Anthony visits the Rosary Hour Podcast’s Digital Café from the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy (Stockbridge, MA, USA) to discuss many topics in this Mini Series on the Rosary, and to help all of us around the world deepen “the Why" behind our prayers.1
PART II: *SPECIAL BROADCAST* — THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST goes ON MARIAN PILGRIMAGE to the CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF LAPA in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, for its 250th Anniversary celebration.
This video captures the memorable LAPA 250 festivities that took place on Sept. 24/25, 2022.
(We plan to post a separate substack article about Lapa 250 sometime in October with a memory of the Festas D’Assunçião (August 06-22) and hopefully some personal words from Padre Nuno!)
We hope this video will help inspire in others the desire to increase the prayer of the Rosary as we explore the beautiful act of going on Marian pilgrimage.
We are excited to share with you the events in this special community that so honours Jesus and His Mother in such a loving way.
In this coastal area of Northern Portugal, also known as part of the Camino de Santiago route on the Way of the Sands from Porto, the Mother of God is exceptionally venerated, elevated, and glorified as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.2
In this short video, we feature a special concert encore dedicated to Our Lady of Lapa which took place on the evening of Sept. 24th, 2022. As well, we have inserted short clips from the first visit to Lapa by the Archbishop of the city of Braga, D. José Cordeiro.
This special mass was concelebrated by Padre Nuno Rocha, on Sept. 25th, 2022. Padre Nuno was also the host and MC of the lovely LAPA250 musical event. His parish was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and a reminder of the 2023 World Youth Day which takes place in Lisbon, Portugal next year.
We wish to thank this beautiful parish community for their warm hospitality to us, and for helping us to produce this small memory of the wonderful LAPA 250 Jubilee on the Camino. Also, we wish to thank Fr. Charles, Padre Nuno, Tomé, Dan K, Fr. Peter, Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle, for their help and input and prayers as we completed this broadcast.
Thank you for supporting The Rosary Hour Podcast Newsletter, and for sharing and liking this video to help us to spread the message of the power of offering to Jesus the Holy Rosary, and to inspire in all souls a desire for change of heart and return to God.
Thank, and enjoy, and God bless you.

FUN FOOTNOTES:
Epilogue: The Narrator / Guest for the epilogue of this episode is Fr. Chris Alar, Provincial Superior of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. He is Fr. Joseph and Director of the Association for Marian Helpers (USA). Fr. Alar is also the Head of Marian Press. SEE https://thedivinemercy.org for more details.
Travessa da Senra House Press is working on another video article for Lapa 250 with some history. When we are able to complete our translation from the research we were provided, we’ll post it soon after before Christmas. Thank you for tuning into the Rosary Hour Podcast on Marian Pilgrimage in Portugal!
PROCESSION NOTE 1:
For those in the Braga / Vila do Conde / Porto and surrounding areas wishing to join the upcoming “Our Lady of the Rosary Procession” on Oct. 9, please meet at Matrix Church on Rua Igreja 15-30 minutes before 16h00 (or write to us if you are visiting the area and wish to join us in prayer.)
Underground parking will be a bit chaotic as it was in August and earlier in September. Streets on the procession route will close as per the Mayor’s note on his website, so we recommend taking the express train for those visiting from Oporto, etc.
Matrix is very close to the train station. Go out the fancy doors into the Praça past the café and turn right toward Misericórdia and Das Dores. Your digital map should lead you the rest of the way, or just ask anyone where to find Matrix which is one street over from Rua Mãe/Madre de Deus (Mother of God Street).
PROCESSION NOTE 2: Oct. 6 is our first mass at Matrix for this October focus on the Rosary. [See our last post for mass details].
Here is a view the altar from June 2022 FYI from their YouTube channel. (Note: Matrix is even older than Lapa and in the Rococco style.)
All are welcome and remember to bring your Rosary! (We’ll post the Digital Toolkit for the Rosary in Portuguese soon.) God bless.
PROCESSION NOTE 3: Need help with praying the Rosary?
Below, please find page three from our new e-book of Rosary Meditations based on St. Louis de Montfort’s 50th Rose Chapter featured in Father Anthony’s popular video on “The Secret of the Rosary.”
This e-book features professional photos of Padre Nuno’s parish: Our Lady of Lapa. They were donated generously by our friend in Portugal, Johnny Silva, and taken during the August 14/15, 2022 festas which restarted after the pandemic.
We hope that these visuals will help inspire all those new to the Rosary to learn the Rosary prayers with a script written by a Saint as they were designed and organized on the page by our youngest graphic designer, Amelia Grace, who wishes to inspire her friends to pray and meditate on the Mysteries with fun colours and beautiful pictures venerating the Mother of God.
NOTES ON THE ANDORES:
Each of Our Lady’s statues is a sign of her presence and reminds us of our Mother in Heaven.
We are invited to look with love to her images and to remember that each image is a sign of her presence among all of us and a sign of hope that she will guide us to the Miracle of Divine Mercy.
We are thankful to Padre Nuno Rocha for helping us share with the world these beautiful statues of Our Lady whose powerful intercession we need so much in our times to transform the world through prayer.
The following introduction to the first part of the Rosary is authored here by St. Louis Marie Grignon de Montfort — and it provides a guided text that can help students in the School of Mary (young or old) to develop the knowledge behind “why we pray” and how we pray the Rosary. The Rosary can sometimes seem difficult to follow, so we hope de Montfort’s script will bridge the gap for those needing some support in contemplating the power of the promises in each Rosary Mystery.
We hope this soon to be published e-book will help to increase the regular daily practice of Rosary recitation, even of the first part of the Holy Rosary for the month of October, since not all children or adults have an established “Family Prayer practice”, which Fr. Anthony will discuss in a later video in his Mini Series of talks on the Rosary.
This Rosary prayer practice observed via St. Louis de Montfort from his 50th Rose Chapter might be part of a session with your pastor, or Catholic schoolroom, home school, or even a way for catechists or staff teams to begin a session in prayer.
FINAL NOTE: Our youngest podcasters, Zosia and Amelia have recorded a “Decade Rosary” in our Live Record studio for a future post to help children increase their prayers little-by-little.
Stay tuned for this entire e-book which we’ll post to the Digital Toolkit for Rosary Leaders on Oct. 7th, 2022; this e-book also includes a 5 First Saturdays Devotion checklist to help guide the practice of this devotion asked of Blessed Lucia at Pontevedra by the Infant Jesus. Look out also and for the decade Rosary by our ChildrensRosary.org members.
FINALLY: ABOUT DONNA-MARIE
Before our next post, The Rosary Hour Podcast wishes to introduce our dear friend in Christ, Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle, who will guest author the substack for the next few videos on Divine Mercy as presented by Father Anthony Gramlich, MIC.
Donna-Marie is our Episode 3 guest who meets with us in October to record her podcast. Her book, “52 Weeks to St. Faustina” is published by Marian Press in Stockbridge, MA and will be featured on The Rosary Hour Podcast Newsletter in October, starting on Oct. 5, the Feast Day of St. Faustina.
We are so honoured to have Donna-Marie support our podcast, and we’ve appreciated her prayers, sisterhood, and commitment to spreading the Rosary and the message of Divine Mercy since we’ve come to know her back in March 2022.
Enjoy her reflection in the next post.
