On June 13, 1917, OUR LADY of FÁTIMA said to the three shepherd children in a Church approved Marian Apparition that was recently celebrated at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima:
“Jesus wishes to avail Himself of you” …
and
“to make Me known and loved”.
She continues:
“He wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart."
Then, after saying, “I will never forsake you”, Our Lady assures Venerable Lucy dos Santos:
“My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the path [caminho] that will lead you to God."
In her memoir, Lucy further explains that the children “understood” by the end of this apparition:
“that it was Mary's Immaculate Heart, which, outraged by the sins of humanity, sought reparation”.
