13 April 2025 | LATE EVENING EDITION | FROM DR. BLYTHE KAUFMAN
Dear Friends:
This year, the Children's Rosary turned fourteen years old on April 10, 2025.
It has become a yearly tradition to offer a novena of Masses leading up to the anniversary for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary.
Then from April 10-April 19, we have Masses offered in thanksgiving. There is still time to request a Mass.
Please contact your local Church and ask if there are any open Masses during our novena. (Usually there is a customary donation when requesting a Holy Mass to donate to your Church.)
From April 1 through April 9: Masses were offered for the fulfillment of Our Lady's plans for the Children's Rosary.
From April 10 until April 19: Masses will be offered in thanksgiving for Children’s Rosary and movements of the Rosary led by children.
There are many projects coming to completion for the Children's Rosary which we look forward to sharing with you.
This is a witness of the power of the sacrifice of the Holy Mass.
Thank you to those who have helped with arranging Masses. Please consider adding to our number of Masses.
If you are able to arrange a Holy Mass, please let us know by sending an email to blythe@childrensrosary.org.
Gratefully,
Blythe

"I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw therefrom strength and refreshment and whatever grace they have need of in the hardships of life, and especially at the hour of death" (Diary, 1209).
WHAT IS THE DIVINE MERCY NOVENA?
The Marians of the Immaculate Conception outline that “For each of the nine days, our Lord gave Saint Faustina a different intention”:
All mankind, especially sinners; the souls of priests and religious; all devout and faithful souls; those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus; the souls who have separated themselves from the Church; the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children; the souls who especially venerate and glorify His mercy; the souls detained in purgatory; and souls who have become lukewarm.

JUBILEE JOURNEY THROUGH LENT WITH FR. ANTHONY GRAMLICH
The National Shrine of the Divine Mercy also invites you also to see this fifth episode of "Jubilee Journey Through Lent," Fr. Anthony Gramlich, MIC reflects on the final three Spiritual Works of Mercy — patience with those in error, forgiveness, and prayer—emphasizing how these acts of mercy, especially in the spirit of the Jubilee Year, can transform our hearts, bring healing, and prepare us for the graces of Holy Week.
Join Father Anthony on this six-part video series designed to deepen your spiritual life during this holy penitential season. As we walk through Lent, Father Anthony explores how we can make our observance more fruitful and spiritually rewarding, especially in this Jubilee Year of Hope.
Drawing from the rich traditions of the Church — daily Mass, Scripture, the Rosary, and acts of mercy — Father Anthony will guide viewers on this path to renewal.
SERMON SPOTLIGHT | “THE FORGIVENESS OF SINNERS”, BISHOP BARRON
ANNOTATIONS BY THE ROSARY HOUR PODCAST FOR BUSY PEOPLE
Bishop Barron’s Sunday Sermon explores the options for responding to suffering which contrast one another in this sort of “Spiritual Physics exercise depicted” in today’s Gospel.
First, he draws attention to “criminal #1” crucified beside Jesus who represents the attitude we might undergo in moments when we do not admit our sin in the presence of the Lord: to Jesus Himself.
He notes that “There is sometimes a tendency” toward “anger, bitterness, lashing out and taking no responsibility”; and he notes of today’s culture this idea of having “a passion for self-exculpation” with a notion that, “it’s not my fault” but that of society, my inheritance, my family, etc.”
Bishop Barron notes that for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, however, there is “a prerequisite is the showing of contrition” and thus “acknowledging we are guilty of something”. He also emphasizes that “if we cannot admit our sin, we cannot receive forgiveness”.
Bishop Barron focuses on the words of today’s Gospel, “Remember me” as a disposition of criminal #2 admits his own guilt: “Have you no fear of God?” and “We have been condemned justly.” Criminal #2 admits by contrast to criminal #1 that “he is a sinner”. This point, Bishop Barron reminds, “is the path of salvation”. How difficult this is?, he asks, to say, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom”? Bishop Barron argues that in this secondary case, the thief expresses his friendship with Jesus — not claiming his own merit, and thus “providing us with a great spiritual attitude”.
Finally, Jesus’s response, “Amen, I say to you” and “Today you will be with me in paradise”, responds with the notion that “All God needs to save the sinner is one tear of repentance” as Dante, cited in the video above, argued.
